Government Support Services
The Telford Group, Inc. has a limited number of openings in its Government Services Division. These positions typically require a background in government or military aviation operational environments. Assignments may be stateside or overseas, for defined periods of time or open-ended. Compensation
The Telford Group maintains competitive pay and benefit schedules within the Maine and New England regions. Benefits include all standard provisions, such as vacation, sick-leave, health insurance, retirement benefits and a variety of other optional plans.
Relocation Assistance
In selective cases relocation assistance is available, depending on the qualifications of the candidate. In general such assistance is limited to assistance with moving expenses.
About Bangor, Maine
Bangor, Maine, is the center of a rapidly growing region within Maine. It has been high-lighted as a desirable city for working professionals and retirees alike. The school system of Bangor and its surrounding communities are highly rated. Crime rates remain among the lowest in the country. While the cost of housing has increased along with the city's growth, prices remain reasonable when compared with other regions in the country.
With the University of Maine located in nearby Orono, the well-known coastal and mountain regions only an hours drive away, woodlands and lakes even closer, and ample local entertainment (orchestra, theatre, museums), Bangor is a most livable city.
Although Maine winters are often still described as cold and stormy, the reality is different: winters can still be fairly cold but the seasonal dryness makes them feel much milder than an average Mid-Western winter. Snow is always guaranteed but the moderating global warming trend has reduced accumulations in recent years. Skiing, cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and snowmobiling are popular winter activities, often under clear blue skies. The fall season, as elsewhere in New England is perhaps the best time, with warm days and cool evenings and, most of all, spectacular multi-colored foliage.
The Maine traditions of friendliness and neighborliness are alive and well. Communities tend to be smaller than and therefore it is easier to become involved. On the other hand, Maine has also been known for the independence and self-sufficiency of many of its citizens and, given the available spaces, that option also remains available.
